About The Project:
The eValueJobs project develops gender-sensitive, evidence-based tools to help employers and social partners – trade unions, implement gender-neutral job evaluation and fair pay structures. By reviewing best practices, assessing user needs, and providing targeted training, the project strengthens capacity to ensure equal pay for work of equal value. Awareness and communication activities will foster broad adoption, promoting transparency and gender equality in the labour market.
Objectives/actions:
The project aims to support the implementation of the provisions of Directive (EU) 2023/970 on strengthening the application of the principle of equal pay between men and women through pay transparency, and specifically the obligation of Member States to ensure the availability of gender-neutral job evaluation tools for use by employers in both the public and private sectors, as well as by social partners within the context of collective bargaining.
The following actions will be implemented within the framework of project eValueJobs:
(a) Development of tools to be used by employers in both the public and private sectors, as well as by social partners, serving as aids for the evaluation and comparison of jobs and their corresponding remunerations, as well as for the development and/or revision of pay structures/classification systems, within the context of collective bargaining. These tools include:
- A digital, gender-neutral job evaluation tool, which will be freely available to all users.
- A detailed user guidance manual for the use of the digital job evaluation tool.
- A checklist guide for recording the prerequisites and procedures to be followed during job evaluation and the development and/or revision of pay structures/classification systems, to ensure the application of the principle of equal pay for equal work or work of equal value.
(b) Design and implementation of training activities aimed at strengthening public and private sector employers and social partners’ capacity to evaluate job positions and determine their corresponding pay, within the framework of establishing and/or revising pay structures/classification systems, as well as in collective bargaining. These activities will specifically include:
- Training of Department of Labour Relations’ Officers to enhance their knowledge and skills for evaluating job positions and offering guidance to employers.
- Training of OEB, CCCI, SEK, PEO and DEOK representatives to enhance their ability to evaluate job positions, safeguarding the principle of equal pay within collective bargaining, including the use of the tools referred to in point (a) above, as well as to act as knowledge hubs for their respective members.
- Training of OEB, CCCI, SEK, PEO, and DEOK knowledge hub members, aiming to develop knowhow in evaluating work, and familiarise them with the use of the aforementioned tools.
- Training members of other trade unions, professional employer associations, other targeted employer groups, and the employer community in general, aiming, among others, to familiarise them with the use of the tools described above.
